Property Taxes

Tax Due Dates

Property owners in North Grenville will receive property tax bills twice a year with three billing due dates; the Interim Bill is mailed to property owners in the first week of March and the Final Tax Bill is mailed out in the first week of June.

Interim Billing

  • Mailed out the first week of March
    Due end of March

Final Billing

  • Mailed out the first week of June
    First instalment is due end of June
    Second instalment is due at the end of September

Information Required to Pay Online

  1. Account balance
  2. Roll Number (Your roll number can be found on your property tax bill and looks like this:
    0719 XXX YYYYYYYY.0000 The X’s represent the jurisdiction so use the drop down arrow and pick your jurisdiction then put the rest of the roll number on the next line down.)
  3. Online Pin Number found on your property tax bill
  4. Email address

Method of Payment

VISA or MasterCard are acceptable forms of payment 
(*Please note: There is a $1,000 per transaction limit for credit card payments.)

A service fee of 1.75% is applied by the service provider, Paymentus Corporation.

If you are making a payment after the bill due date, your payment will be subject to a late payment penalty. 

Why is there a convenience fee & how much is it?

The convenience fee only applies when processing your credit card payment online with the Municipality of North Grenville. The convenience fee is added to help cover the processing fees that the credit card company charges. Therefore, to be fair to all customers, we have to ensure that the users of the credit card service pay for the service. The convenience fee charge will be 1.75% of the total payment.

Water Bill

Water and Wastewater Billing Dates

You will receive a billfor the period of
February December 1 – January 31
April February 1 – March 31
June April 1 – May 31
August June 1 – July 31
October August 1 – September 30
December October 1 – November 30

Burn Permit

Open air fires are permitted, except in specified locations, provided you have a valid permit.  Burn permits are conditional and can be revoked at any time. If you are a tenant, you must obtain permission from the property owner.

Learn Before You Burn provides some information regarding the size of fires allowed and the regulations that must be followed.

The Open Air Fires & Burn Permits (33-12)  provides all the details (and map) on permitted burning in North Grenville. 

Please call 613-706-1770 before every burn to learn the burn status and to report your burn.

Dog Licence

All dogs in the Municipality of North Grenville must be registered and must wear a numbered metal tag.

Dog licences are valid until December 31st in the year of purchase.

How much does a licence cost?

$15 annually if purchased or renewed before March 31st, $30 if purchased later in the year.

What method of payment is available online?

You can purchase or renew your licence online using a credit or VISA debit card, or via PayPal.

What is the fee for a replacement tag?

A $7 fee applies for replacement tags.

Parking Ticket

Before 02-JAN-2025: 
 Offence  Set Fine  Voluntary payment within seven days
 Parking during an overnight parking ban  $40  $30

After 02-JAN-2025:

Please refer to Schedule A & B of the new AMPS By-Law 107-24 which comes into effect January 2, 2025.

Please note that parking in any Municipal owned parking lot is prohibited between 11:00pm and 7:00am year round.
