Mayor Nancy Peckford Issues Statement on Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day

Each year, on the last Sunday of September, the Municipality of North Grenville solemnly lowers its flags in recognition of Police and Peace Officers' National Memorial Day. This day serves as a poignant reminder of the immense sacrifices made by police and peace officers who have tragically lost their lives in the line of duty, while safeguarding the wellbeing of our communities.

On behalf of Council, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude and respect to our local Grenville OPP, North Grenville By-Law Officers, and all those across the nation who serve with unwavering commitment. Your courage, dedication, and selflessness in protecting us do not go unnoticed.

To the families and colleagues of the fallen, we share in your grief and offer our heartfelt appreciation for the service and sacrifices of your loved ones. To those who continue to protect us, thank you for putting your lives on the line every day for the safety and security of our community.
